Earning a passive income on Amazon selling kindle eBooks is real and I and thousands others are living proof that it works. I started publishing eBooks at the start of 2014 and have over 50 eBooks for sale on Amazon banking me cash each and every day.
I will not lie. It was not easy to build up my kindle business but it is not hard if you know what you are doing and surely it's not rocket science to learn. If you really want to make money publishing kindle ebooks then take a look at my steps below how to get started.
First you need an idea. What are you going to write? Start by writing down your interests and hobbies, anything you have good knowledge of. For example if you have ever had bed bugs in your home then you would have experience in removing them. You could use that experience to write a how-to guide. Or you might have been a barman when you were in college. Write an eBook about cocktail recipes. Writing about something you already know about is a lot easier than trying something you have no idea about.
Once you have your idea you need to plan your eBook. You need to structure it before you start, it will make it so much easier to write. A good way is to create a table of contents first. You can do a quick Amazon search of other books in the same niche and check out their contents pages to get ideas how yours should look and what topics you could include. The length of your eBook is entirely up to you, and eBooks start from a few thousand words upwards. By having your contents pages already planned out you are able to write your eBook chapter by chapter if you wish without feeling too overwhelmed with the task at hand.
If you do not feel brave enough to write your own eBook you can hire a ghost writer.
Once you have your final draft ready you need to create a KDP Select account and format the eBook correctly so it is readable on kindle devises. You will also need a cover page such as the ones you see next to book titles on Amazon. Once you have correctly formatted your eBook you will have to upload it and fill out some details before it goes live. Within 24 hours you will be a published author with your new eBook on the shelves of the largest internet retailer.
Amazon itself is a magnificent marketing tool, millions of people visit each day buying products. However I recommend that you also market your eBook to aim for maximum exposure (to the right people). There are so many ways you could promote your eBook. You could try social media, paid adverts, make a website / blog, use word of mouth, make a video about the topic on YouTube and more.
I hope that I have shown you that publishing an eBook to Amazon is available to everyone no matter your expertise. You really do not have to be an expert in anything. Just aim to create great quality content that can solve people's problems or that entertains.
